Prepare for the Unexpected

So much happens in our life where we aren’t really prepared. We overlook the most important because we’re focused on the most urgent!

We prepare for electricity outages by having extra water, food, flashlights, and candles.

We prepare for a client meeting by understanding our businesses and our offering so we can answer any question a client may have.

We prepare for Christmas by getting a tree and saving enough money to buy presents for our loved ones.

We prepare for sports contests if we belong to a team by going to practice and learning how to work together.

We prepare for marriage by coordinating the wedding with a honeymoon and making sure all the guests are satisfied for our big day.

We prepare for parties, going to bed, getting ready for work, teaching our kids for their future and the list is endless.

AND all of these things are important!!  BUT let’s not overlook how to prepare for the unexpected things that come our way. Traffic accidents that are NOT our fault, the loss of loved ones suddenly, the loss of a job, surprise repairs that are costly, a dental bill for work we didn’t know we needed, raises in rent, higher taxes, AND this list goes on!

Be prepared for the unexpected.

God said, “We know that ALL THINGS work together for good to those who love God and are called according to HIS PURPOSE.” In other words, the Holy Spirit knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our condition and everything that has happened, is happening, and will happen. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives God is working into something good.

How do we prepare for the unexpected?

We continue to KNOW, TALK TO, AND TRUST the ONE WHO IS NEVER UNPREPARED.
